General Terms and Conditions (Online Courses)
1. Scope of Application
For the business relationship between the WWU IT and the participant, the following General Terms and Conditions in their version valid at the time of registration shall apply exclusively.
2. Conclusion of Contract
Your registration represents an offer to us to conclude a contract. We will accept this offer if we make a course place available to you. Please note that our registration is personal and non-transferable. The participant may only participate in the software training after conclusion of the contract. Only students and doctoral candidates of Münster University are entitled to participate, provided they are registered as participants in the registration system after the registration deadline (time of course start). If eligible participants do not show up at the beginning of the course, their claim lapses. In this case, the lecturers may make course places available to other interested parties according to the order in which they appear.
3. Waiting Lists
If a course is already fully booked, interested parties can subscribe to a mailing list for all dates of the same topic and cancel their subscription in "My WWU IT Courses". The mailing list informs about free course places, but there is no entitlement to participate. This requires a new successful registration. The mailing lists are regularly deleted before a new registration phase.
4. Certificates of Participation
Certificates of attendance are available for download in "My WWU IT Courses" after the course. The prerequisite for this is the participant's presence during the entire course as confirmed by the lecturer. Certificates of attendance can be downloaded up to 24 months after the course date. Certificates of attendance will only be made available in digital form.
5. Withdrawal / Revocation / Expiration of the Course Place
Registration for courses is binding. However, the participant has the possibility to withdraw from the contract up to 48 hours before the start of the course by online cancellation. Participants who repeatedly fail to appear for courses will be excluded from courses for a period of six months. The exclusion automatically comes into effect if three courses are missed within 12 months. The current status can be looked up at any time in "My WWU IT Courses"; in addition, an e-mail notification is sent for each missed course.
6. Technical Requirements
The participants have to provide a working space with the required software and a stable internet connection. While attending the online course the use of full names is mandatory.
7. Cancellation of Courses
If a course cannot take place due to force majeure, illness or if the number of participants is less than 7, the participant will be informed by e-mail. There is no right to a place in another course or a repetition of the course.
8. Exclusion of Liability
The WWU IT assumes no liability for material damage or financial loss suffered by the participants in connection with the courses or their cancellation and for claims between the participants.
9. Data Protection
We know that the careful handling of your personal data is important to you. Accordingly, we appreciate your confidence in us to handle your personal data conscientiously. By accepting these General Terms & Conditions by registering for one of our courses, you give us your consent to collect, process and use your personal data for the purpose of course preparation, execution and evaluation, for checking attendance, for transmitting information on the course programme and for issuing certificates of attendance. This consent can be revoked at any time with effect for the future. The lists of participants will be archived for a maximum of 24 months from the day of the course and then automatically deleted. The data will not be passed on to third parties or used for any other purpose than that specified here. We use the conferencing tool WWUzoom for online courses. Information concerning privacy and the technical requirements can be found in our FAQ for WWUzoom.
These conditions apply to all participants in the WWU IT's course programme.
