Web 2.0

Content: The goal of the lecture is to introduce basic techniques of Web 2.0, which offers web applications that are hardly different from traditional desktop applications. The focus is therefore on the client side and the current techniques in the user's browser. The use of Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and JavaScript (JS) is explained, which are responsible for the basic structure, design and interaction of web pages. In particular, the JavaScript library jQuery and some frequently used plugins are introduced. Except for Node.js, server-side techniques like Perl and PHP are only mentioned in passing, since the WWU IT offers own lectures on these topics.

Target Group: programming knowledge is an advantage, but not a prerequisite
