Audiovisual Media Literacy: AI-Supported Video Production
Content: The lecture introduces the basics of using artificial intelligence (AI) in audiovisual content creation. The focus is on the practical use of AI tools in various phases of video production - from brainstorming to editorial preparation to post production.
Format: The course is divided into two phases: an online self-study module and a hands-on in- class day. Over four weeks, participants work independently with the online material, accompanied by weekly interim meetings for questions and exchange. In the last online session, the date for the classroom workshop is set together.
The following topics are covered in the online self-study module:
- Introduction to AI and its role in media production
- AI-supported idea creation
- Animation and video generation using AI - what is possible today
- AI tools in video editing
- Opportunities and limitations in professional use
The practical part takes place in a classroom workshop. Participants will work together in teams to create a short video - with specific use of AI tools.

Course format: Inverted classroom (online self-study modules, 4 intermediate meetings, 1 classroom day)
Target group: Students and members of the university. Previous knowledge of video production or AI is not required.
