Dr. Emmanuel Eze Advances Disaster Education and Resilience at Global Platform in Geneva

Dr. Emmanuel Eze, an expert in disaster education, resilience, and geospatial technologies, represented the Institute of Geography Didactics at the 2025 Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (GP2025) in Geneva, Switzerland.

At GP2025, Dr. Eze participated in strategic sessions including “Enhanced Risk Awareness, Communication, and Education for Whole of Society” and “Technologies to Accelerate Disaster Risk Reduction.” His contributions focused on embedding disaster risk reduction in education systems and using digital tools to support vulnerable communities, which are key themes in his research and teaching. He also shared insights during the side event “Knowledge Series on African Urban Resilience,” highlighting the value of heritage sites in building sustainable and adaptive communities.

In parallel, Dr. Eze engaged with global experts and institutions to explore future collaborations in the areas of digital learning, heritage resilience, and education for sustainable development.
