Due to the complementary nature of research areas of geographical spatial conflicts, critical urban and regional geography, economic and transport geography, and planning-related spatial research, the Institute offers cooperative interdisciplinary research potentials for forward-looking geographical knowledge production at local, regional, international and global levels, that also fulfils the requisites of sustainable spatial development. Hence, the Institute highlights its competencies in tackling contemporary problems through a focus on the intersection between society, people, and space; an intersectional area that would be the emphasis of research also in future.
