WP 5: 

The theoretical model links and integrates the various research findings from work packages 1 to 4 and also anticipates future developments in AI technology. For reasons of practical applicability, we base our approach on the currently applicable legal framework – in particular the German Constitution, the German Code of Criminal Procedure and the European Union’s AI Act. At the same time, we highlight where additional regulations would be appropriate de lege ferenda and how these might be structured. On this basis, a prototype AI interface is to be simulated and empirically validated by practising judges in a subsequent pilot phase.
