University Cantor Ellen Beinert, born in Essen, passed her exams in church music at the age of 23 at the Cologne Conservatory of Music and shortly thereafter took over the A cantor position at one of the main churches in Wuppertal. Since 1997 she has worked as organist and cantor at the Protestant University Church in Münster. Ellen Beinert has given many successful concerts as an organist in Germany and other European countries. With performances of the great oratorical works of Johann Sebastian Bach, Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Giacomo Puccini and last but not least Arthur Honegger, she has also distinguished herself as a conductor. She is a lecturer for organ literature at the University of Münster. She has been appointed several times as a juror for choir competitions, among others for the Landesmusikrat NRW.
