Flexibility as the key to modern employer attractiveness

The study shows that young talent does not want to work fewer hours, but rather in a more flexible way. Flexibility in terms of time and location, such as flexitime, working from home or mobile working, is a key criterion when choosing an employer.
From a managerial perspective, flexibility is increasingly expected as standard. While many institutions already offer flexitime and home office arrangements, they are sceptical about models such as the four-day week. Challenges primarily exist in service-oriented areas where presence is indispensable, as well as in questions of fairness and team coordination.
For the cooperative financial group, the greatest opportunity lies in clearly and credibly communicating its flexible working policies. Time autonomy should be prioritised for expansion, spatial flexibility should be applied more selectively, and duration-based models should be offered to specific target groups. Realistic implementation, industry-specific adaptation and transparent communication are crucial to strengthening the appeal to young talent and ensuring performance.
