Enhanced science – eScience for short – refers to the expansion of science to include infrastructural and methodological aspects that have become necessary resources, skills and best practices as a result of the digital transformation. The implementation of eScience involves the use of technologies that also promote collaborative and interdisciplinary research and enable better reuse of and interaction with research results.

The eScience Centre at the University of Münster is a joint competence and service centre of the Centre for Information Technology (CIT) and the University and State Library (ULB) Münster. Its goal is to enable and promote research based on digital infrastructure by providing tools, expertise and coordination. The eScience Centre works closely with the Research & IT Working Group of the IT Commission at the University of Münster.
