Required preparation

To take part in the summer school, you need to do some preparatory research work:

Collect information according to the task below and document your notes (digitally or on paper); bring your findings to the course. Based on your preparations, you will work on a group task as part of the course schedule on-site, which will be evaluated.

Your work should cover the following points:

Insight into social and cultural context

• Document min. 3 examples of intercultural misunderstandings or intercultural conflicts you experienced in your everyday life, workspace or academic life.

Practical examples

• Select a local / national organization which promotes intercultural coexistence and cultural diversity. Take a deep look into their intercultural vision, their guidelines for diversity management, company policy, customer profile and employee profile.
