Journey

  • By car

You can reach Münster via the motorways A1 (exit Münster-Nord) and A43/B51. Parking in the city centre is limited. Particularly on Wednesdays, due to the weekly market on the Domplatz, you can expect to spend a lot of time looking for a parking space. The following car parks/parking garages are located in the vicinity:

  • By plane

    • Münster-Osnabrück Airport (FMO, approx. 25 km away)
There is a regular shuttle bus service between the airport and Münster Central Station (journey time 25 minutes)
    • Dortmund Airport (DTM, approx. 55 km away)
There are shuttle buses to the nearest railway station Holzwickede (journey time approx. 5 minutes, journey to Münster main station 45 to 60 minutes) and to Dortmund main station (journey time approx. 22 minutes, journey to Münster main station approx. 50 minutes, by InterCity train 30 minutes).
    • Düsseldorf Airport (DUS, approx. 160 km away)
You can easily reach Münster in approx. 1.5 hours departing from the “Düsseldorf Flughafen” railway station.
    • Frankfurt am Main Airport (FRA, approx. 280 km away)
Frankfurt Airport has a long-distance railway station from where you can get to Münster in around 3 hours.
  • On site

    • on foot
Münster is a city of short distances. If you have booked accommodation in the city centre, it is usually no more than a 10-minute walk to the DKPhil event buildings. Why don't you count the churches you pass on the way? Or take a detour along the promenade or a walk around the Aasee lake.
    • by bus
The best way to get to the congress is via the Domplatz or Aegidiimarkt bus stops on lines 1, 2, 4, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 14. You can research bus connections using the timetable information service or the Stadtwerke app. You can purchase bus tickets electronically through the app once you have registered.
    • by hire bike
For longer hire periods, we recommend hiring a bike from the bike station at Berliner Platz (right outside the main railway station). For a spontaneous cycling trip, renting an e-bike from Bolt may be worthwhile.
    • by e-scooter
You really can't miss them, and they are also available on Domplatz and in front of the Fürstenberg-House: e-scooters from providers Bolt, Tier and Voi. There are numerous restricted zones in Münster, especially in the city centre, and not every provider is active in every part of the city. Depending on your destination, it is best to check in advance whether you are allowed to park your scooter there. You can find the relevant information in the respective provider apps.
