Christian Schröder received the European PhD prize for zeolite science from the Federation of European Zeolite Associations (FEZA). The certificate was handed over by Svetlana Mintova (chairwoman of the FEZA) at the conference in Portorož (Slovenia) on 5th July 2023.
He is awarded for his work on the structural surface properties of zeolites. A simple model was developed for the prediction of hydrogen bonds of Brønsted acid sites, and these can now be clearly identified, among other protic species, with solid-state NMR spectroscopy. This is a significant contribution for the understanding of the acid properties of these important catalysts. FEZA ORCID profile LinkedIn profile
