Visa requirements

If you are a citizen of a non-EU country, you may be required to obtain a visa before travelling to Germany. Arrival by plane

Münster/Osnabrück (FMO) Airport

Münster/Osnabrück International Airport (FMO) is located about 30 min by car from the city centre.

In addition, the bus lines S50 and R51 operate between Münster/Osnabrück Airport and Münster's central train station. The cost for a single trip amounts to approximately 8.50 €.

Should you opt for a taxi ride between the airport and the central train station during daylight hours, the fare is around 70 €.

 

Düsseldorf (DUS) Airport

Alternatively, Münster can easily be reached by plane via Düsseldorf International Airport (DUS). A train ride from Düsseldorf International Airport to Münster takes approximately 80 to 90 min.

Cologne/Bonn (CGN) Airport

Another International Airport is Cologne/Bonn International Airport (CGN). A train ride from Cologne/Bonn International Airport to Münster takes approximately 120 min.

Arrival by train

Münster train station has hourly connections from all major destinations, including ICE high-speed trains. Arrival by car

You can reach Münster by car directly via the highways A1 and A43. The journey from Frankfurt am Main, Hamburg, or Amsterdam takes approximately 3 hours, while the drive from Berlin to Münster takes around 5 hours.
