Activities

The members of the Center for International Gender Studies (CIGS) organize and participate in a variety of events focusing on gender studies.

At the CIGS, four formats for exchange and networking are regularly pursued:

  1. Member Meetings – Quarterly forums to exchange on research and teaching and to discuss current questions in gender studies.
  2. Interdisciplinary Lecture Series – Thematic lectures by scholars from the University of Münster as well as from universities worldwide.
  3. Reading Circle – Regular meetings where students, doctoral candidates, and CIGS members discuss key texts on global, intersectional, and postcolonial perspectives on gender and sexuality.
  4. Research Slam – A forum for early-career researchers to network and discuss their research projects, publications, and presentations in gender studies.
