Eugenia Jona
Schumann Fellow 2025-2026
Eugenia Jona is a legal scholar specializing in administrative and public law, currently serving as a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Münster as part of the Schumann Fellowship program. Since 2025, she has been conducting a comparative research project on economic activity and governmental powers of direction and coordination, focusing on Italy, Germany, and the European Union. At the same time, she is a Research Fellow at the University of Turin, where she was awarded a competitive research grant on similar topics.
Jona completed her Ph.D. in “Rights and Institutions” at the University of Turin, with a dissertation on public law constraints on private economic initiative in national and EU law, which she defended with honors in 2024. During her doctoral studies, she gained international research experience as a visiting Ph.D. candidate at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law in Heidelberg.
In addition to her research, she is actively involved in teaching as an adjunct lecturer in administrative, public, and health law at the University of Turin, as well as in interdisciplinary programs at the Politecnico di Torino. Her academic work focuses on economic law, public intervention in markets, environmental regulation, digitalization of public administration, and the role of artificial intelligence in legal decision-making.
