BIOSTORE Summer School

9 - 11 July 2025

We are pleased to announce the BIOSTORE Postdocs Summer School, taking place from Wednesday 9 to Friday 11 July 2025 at the University of Münster.

This three-day event will bring together early-career researchers involved in the BIOSTORE project to collaboratively develop a joint interdisciplinary publication. Participants will share insights from their research, explore synergies across disciplines, and co-author a high-impact scientific paper.

Summer School Program

Workshop

14 - 15 November 2024

Program

As part of the interdisciplinary research project BIOSTORE (Biologization of Batteries and Materials: Developing the Battery of the Future), a workshop on the topic of “Sustainable Battery Systems: Bridging Technology, Policy, and Governance Dynamics for a Renewable Future” took place on November 14 and 15, 2024 at the Academy Franz Hitze Haus in Münster. Around 30 experts from various scientific disciplines and work areas took part in the event. Based on expert presentations, various questions were discussed in the following three topic areas: (1) “Sustainability Challenges and Technological Innovation in the Battery Sector”, (2) “Governance in Energy Storage: Crafting Policies for a Sustainable Future” and (3) “States & Markets: Green Industrial Policy and the Battery Industry”. Dr. Johannes Klinge, Senior Researcher Resources & Transport at the Öko-Institut e.V. Darmstadt, gave a keynote lecture on the topic “Sustainable batteries and where to find them”.
