4th SP Biosciences Poster Symposium - Climate change: from Science to social responsibility
On Wednesday, March 4, 2026, the SP BioSciences doctoral program will host its fourth Poster Symposium at the University Münster Castle. The event will begin at 2:30 PM and will focus on one of the biggest challenges of our time: climate change.
To highlight the theme of the event and inspire discussion, we are looking forward to a keynote lecture by Prof. Dr. Hans-Otto Pörtner, physiologist and marine biologist at the Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar and Marine Research in Bremerhaven, former co-chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Working Group, and member of the German Advisory Council on Global Change (WBGU).
The participating doctoral researchers will present their current research projects and offer exciting insights into their work. Although this year’s symposium highlights climate change as its thematic focus, the poster presentations will, as always, showcase the full range of ongoing research projects across the biological and life sciences. The two-hour poster session provides space for discussions, questions, inspiration, and new perspectives.
Together with the participants and a jury composed of university professors, we will also present the Poster Awards for the three best poster presentations.
All doctoral researchers of the SP Biosciences program, as well as their supervisors and further colleagues, are invited.
The evening will conclude in a relaxed atmosphere with snacks and drinks — a wonderful opportunity to further network and engage in conversations.
