Lectures for students in the context of the summer school "Aspects of the Bioeconomy" at the WWU Münster

Dear students,

This year, for the first time, the Summer School "Aspects of the Bioeconomy" will take place for Students of the Department of Biology at the WWU Münster. This is offered as an interdisciplinary course by the research groups Prüfer (Institute of Plant Biology and Biotechnology) and Philipp (Institute of Molecular Microbiology and Biotechnology) - both members of the Center of Interdisciplinary Sustainability Research (ZIN) at the WWU. For the implementation of the idea, the team cooperates with various guest lecturers (among others Dr. Natalie Laibach, Technology, Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship, University of Bonn) and is supported financially, in terms of personnel and content by the REACH EUREGIO Start-up Center of the WWU.

During the summer school, experts in the field of research will provide insights into various aspects of bioeconomy. As these lectures will take place digitally via ZOOM conference, we are pleased to open these events also to other interested students and PhD students of all disciplines and hereby invite to the following lectures:

Monday, 07.06.21:
- 4 p.m. Prof. Thomas Dietz "Governance of the Bioeconomy"
(Institute of Political Science, University of Münster)

Wednesday, 09.06.21:
- 2 p.m. Jun.-Prof. Lisa Biber-Freudenberger "The risks and chances of bioeconomy for sustainable development" (Center for Development Research, University of Bonn)
- 4 p.m. Prof. Dr. Stefanie Bröring "Moving the bioeconomy from mind to market: what drives technology transfer and innovation adoption?" (Technology, Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship, University of Bonn).
- 5 p.m. Prof. Dr. Ulrich Schurr " Structural change in the "Rhenish Revier" with focus on biogenic value creation" (Institute of Bio- and Geosciences, Forschungszentrum Jülich)
