It aims at networking scholars, students, and employees interested in Asia, who do research on Asia, or who are from Asia, to bundle their wide-ranging interests and competencies and make use of otherwise unknown synergies. The Institute of Sinology and East Asian Studies and the Asian Studies Centre are jointly hosting a guest lecture by Prof. Dr Giulia Falato from the University of Parma as part of the "Sinological Lectures Münster" series, on the topic "Aesop and Mediterranean Wisdom in China: Processes of Circulation and Transformation". The lecture will take place on Wednesday, 17 June 2026, at 6 PM c.t., in seminar room RS 23 of the Institute of Sinology and East Asian Studies. All interested parties are very welcome!

As part of the "Emerging Scholars Research Asia (ESRA)" lecture series, the Asian Studies Centre and the Institute of Sinology and East Asian Studies invite all interested parties to a lecture by Shih Hou-yu 施厚羽. On Thursday, 7 May 2026, 4 PM c.t., the visiting scholar from National Taiwan University will speak on the topic "Rule by Beating: The Institutionalisation of Violence and its Practices in Tang China". No registration is required.
