The Asian Studies Centre is based at the Faculty of Philology at the University of Münster and was founded in 2024. It aims at networking scholars, students, and employees interested in Asia, who do research on Asia, or who are from Asia, to bundle their wide-ranging interests and competencies and make use of otherwise unknown synergies. Internal workshop "Body and Age(ing) in Asia"

As part of this internal workshop, researchers from various disciplines at the University of Münster will explore opportunities for interdisciplinary research on the topic of body and age(ing) in Asia. The workshop will take place on Friday, 12 December 2025, starting at 9 AM in seminar room RS 23 at the Institute of Sinology and East Asian Studies.
Interested listeners are welcome to attend. Please register in advance at asienzentrum@uni-muenster.de.

Students for students, winter semester 2025/26

As part of the "Students for Students - Students report on their experiences in internships and studying abroad" series, in winter semester 2025/26 two students from the Institute of Sinology and East Asian Studies report on their experiences at the Peking University 北京大学 in China and at the National Dong Hwa University 國立東華大學 in Taiwan.

As the event takes place at lunchtime, interested participants are welcome to bring their own lunch. Coffee, tea and biscuits will be provided. Registration is not required.

Conference "Poetry and Knowledge"

20-22 November 2025

The Institute of Arabic and Islamic Studies cordially invites to attend the international conference "Poetry and Knowledge: The Production and Transmission of Knowledge in Arabic Verse (1100–1800)", which will take place at the Institute from 20 to 22 November 2025. Those who are unable to attend in person can follow the presentations online.
All interested parties are cordially invited to attend the entire conference. Registration is not required.
