APPEAL - Attitudes of primary school pupils towards English language learning
This large-scale questionnaire-study takes place in cooperation with Prof. Dr. Stefanie Frisch (Goethe Universität Frankfurt) and explores Year 3 and 4 learners' opinion and attitudes towards learning English in primary school. First and foremost, it investigates the learners' opinion on the appropriate time to start English language learning and teaching in primary school. Over the last months, 1.797 questionnaires have been filled in by pupils in NRW, and another 2.701 by learners in Hesse.
The study is based on a previous study from Prof. Dr. Jutta Rymarczyk with N = 1.624 learners in Baden-Württemberg. The findings can be retrieved here: https://www.campus-schulmanagement.de/magazin/die-kiwis-studie-warum-sich-das-lernen-von-fremdsprachen-in-der-grundschule-lohnt-jutta-rymarczyk.
