Studying Abroad
During your studies, you have the opportunity to complete part of your studies abroad. In most cases, stays abroad are one to two semesters in length.
The general recommendation for the preparation period for a study period abroad is one year. In this time, applications to funding programmes, tests such as language tests, and other preparations can be comfortably completed. Depending on the host university, you will receive more or less support. For example, some universities offer a room in one of their own student dormitories, put you in touch with other exchange students or local students who act as contact persons ("buddies") during your stay.
The Department of Physics has a number of partner universities where, if they are in the EU, participation in the Erasmus programme can also be facilitated. You can find more information on Department's webpage and more general information on stays abroad on WWU's.
Of course, a stay abroad can also take place at a university that is not a partner university of the Department of Physics. In this case, however, you have to apply regularly at the respective university.
