Praxissemester abroad

International experience in the school field is also useful and valuable for students in the practical semester. Cultural diversity and an insight into different educational and school systems contribute to professional career development and broaden the perspective for schools and teaching in Germany. Therefore, the Center for Teacher Education has established the Praxissemester abroad as an option for all teacher training students.

Below you will find all the important information about the practical semester abroad (PSiA).

• Formalities

  If you are interested in a practical semester abroad, please contact the ZfL early on and ask for advice: internationals.zfl@uni-muenster.de

  • Deadlines:
    • February term: first-come-first-serve until 15th August
    • September term: first-come-first-serve until 8th March
      • important: in the case of German schools abroad, it is essential to contact the ZfL as early as possible!
  • Application procedure:
    • Runs identically to all other internships. Information on this here: Application
    • Please note that it is mandatory for PSiA applications to include 1-2 letters of reference from your university lecturers. Plan the necessary time for this.
  • Requirements for formal admission:
    1. Consent from ZfL
    2. Consent from the school abroad
    3. Enrollment in the Master by the enrolment deadline applicable to the PS term

• German schools abroad

  In principle, the PSiA can be completed at any German school abroad (DAS) - regardless of whether it has an existing cooperation with the ZfL or not. There are 135 DAS recognized by the Federal Republic of Germany worldwide.
