“AIM for the Brain,” explores how methods from artificial intelligence and machine learning can open new perspectives in brain research. Can data-driven models help us understand how the brain generates thoughts, memories, perception, and actions? And could artificial intelligence ultimately help us better understand natural intelligence? The workshop is jointly organized by the Center for Data Science and Complexity and the Otto Creutzfeldt Center for Cognitive and Behavioural Neuroscience. As external guests, we are particularly pleased to welcome contributions from Daniel Durstewitz and Tim Kietzmann. All researchers at the University of Münster are warmly invited to participate and to contribute short presentations on their own projects or ideas—even if AI has not yet played a central role in their research. We also especially encourage early-career researchers and students with an interest in AI and neuroscience to attend.
