Cultures of Remembrance: The Example of Bukovina Summer Semester 2025

Northern Bukovina, which belongs to Ukraine as part of the Chernivtsi Oblast, remains a heterogeneous region with several minorities, the largest of which is Romanian. Under the umbrella theme of ‘cultures of remembrance,’ the summer school will examine how these forms of coexistence are remembered in the past and present from the perspective of various participating disciplines in the humanities and social sciences.
