We work to advance the mechanistic understanding of biosphere-climate feedbacks by investigating the carbon cycle of rhizospheres. Our core interest in this regard are plant-soil microbe interactions in wetland ecosystems, global hotspots for carbon sequestration and greenhouse-gas exchange.
