The mass spectrometry laboratory

The mass spectrometry laboratory is equipped with several mass spectrometers including double focussing magnetic sector field -, triple quadrupole-, electrospray-TOF and laser-desorption-DE-TOF-devices. Various ionization modes as electron impact (EI), chemical ionization (CI), electrospray (ESI, APCI) and laser ionization (LDI, MALDI) and inlet systems like direct inlet (crucible, wire), GC, HPLC, TLC and nanospray are available. This group is doing primarily service- and educational work with a throughput of many thousand analyses per year. Additionally there are widespread scientific collaborations. Laser desorption and coupling techniques, especially TLC-ESI are points of interest. To the group belong two fulltime and a halftime technician, one chemist and additonal student(s).
