Prof. Dr. F. E. Hahn
Coordination Chemistry, Organometallic Chemistry and Catalysis
Research Topics:
Preparation of stable N-heterocyclic carbenes and of complexes containing ligands with subvalent group 14 donor atoms (isocyanides and heteroatom
stabilized carbenes), investigation of the equilibrium between N-heterocyclic carbenes and their enetetramine dimers, catalytic applications for carbene complexes
(Heck coupling, olefin metathesis).
Synthesis of di(benzenedithiol) ligands
and mixed benzenedithiol/catechol ligands and preparation of helical complexes and large molecular containers with such ligands.
Tripodal tetradentate ligands
derived from tren and trpn with different donor groups (OH, NH2, SH) and topological unsymmetry, modeling of the active site in metalloproteins (Galactose Oxidase,
Plastocyanin) with metal comples of such ligands, development of kinetically inert lanthanide complexes with tripodal ligands for MRI applications.
