Determination of the specific antiphase boundary energy of L12-ordered precipitates by the minimum dislocation loop size method
Peak-aged single crystals of a d'strengthened
Al-Li-alloy and of the g'-strengthened superalloy
NIMONIC PE16 have been compression tested. From the radius of the smallest dislocation
loops sustained by d'- and g'-particles, the specific antiphase boundary energy is calculated. The
evaluation is based on new computer simulations of the equilibrium configuration of
dislocation loops (see B2).
