Games Night

Several times a term, all geophysics students are invited to a games night at the institute. Although we have plenty of games in the student council room, you’re also welcome to bring your own games. The student council provides cold drinks, and if anyone gets hungry, we usually head to our favourite kebab.

 
Chit-Chat Club

As ours is a smaller degree programme, we want to ensure that dialogue and a sense of community don’t just last for a single semester, but continue beyond that. That’s why students from all years meet up occasionally at a pub in Münster during the lecture term to chat about things other than university and upcoming exams.

Christmas Party

In December, we organise a small Christmas party for all geophysicists before the Christmas holidays begin. Sometimes we organise a little pub quiz, but we’ve also held a design competition in the past. There’s also festive food and drink from a potluck buffet. This is a small end-of-year get-together, a chance to chat with other geophysics students and enjoy the festive season together.

 

Summer Party

During the summer term, we organise a summer party to which all geophysicists from Münster are invited. We usually have a barbecue next to the university building and spend time together. We also play Kub every year. Before the first exams and the stress of studying for the summer term begin, this gives us the chance to enjoy a lovely evening together in a relaxed atmosphere.
