This seminar will be about designing and analysing tasks. Firmly grounded in Communicative Language Teaching and Task-Based/Supported Language Learning, we'll get to know criteria of tasks, analyse evaluate existing tasks (e.g. in course books), and create our own tasks. A special focus is set on differentiation, individualisation, authenticity, communicative success and curricular alignment. Students will also explore some basics of lesson and unit planning, based on the task cycle. The Studienleistung consists of the development of a task, based on the theoretical basis we laid in class. Really good outcomes might be presented at the Nachmittag der Fremdsprachen 2027. A list of literature, details on assessment as well as a detailled course plan will be provided in the first session.
