LaTeX ist ein mächtiges und flexibles Satzsystem, das sich besonders für wissenschaftliche und technische Publikationen eignet. Autoren können aus einer Vielzahl von fertigen Layouts auswählen und diese eigenen Vorstellungen anpassen. Mit speziellen Komponenten, z. B. zur Erzeugung von PDF-Dateien, können LaTeX-Publikationen für die Veröffentlichung vorbereitet werden. Das komplette Satzsystem ist frei erhältlich und steht praktisch auf allen verbreiteten Betriebssystemen zur Verfügung. In dieser Veranstaltung werden die Grundkonzepte und wichtigsten Erweiterungen von LaTeX vorgestellt:

• Komponenten des Satzsystems
• allgemeine Dokument- und Textstrukturen
• Formeln, Tabellen, Grafiken
• Erzeugung von PDF-Dokumenten
  
  

Credit Points: 2 LP im Rahmen der Allgemeinen Studien bei erfolgreicher Teilnahme an der Lehrveranstaltung sowie der Abschlussprüfung

LaTeX is a powerful and flexible typesetting system which is especially suited for scientific and technical publications. Authors can choose from a variety of ready-to-use layouts and adapt them to their own ideas. With special components, e.g. for generating PDF files, LaTeX publications can be prepared for publication. The complete typesetting system is freely available and can be used on practically all common operating systems. In this course the basic concepts and most important extensions of LaTeX will be presented:

• Components of the typesetting system
• general document and text structures
• Formulas, tables, graphics
• Creation of PDF documents

Credit Points: 2 CP within the General Studies in case of successful participation in the course and the final test
