This seminar (Mo 14-16) focusses on individual differences in language learning and their relevance for English language teaching in primary and secondary schools. We will examine key individual difference variables such as cognitive factors, motivation, emotions, and multilingualism, and discuss how these influence language learning processes and outcomes.

Building on theoretical foundations, the seminar adopts a didactic perspective and explores implications for differentiation, individualisation, and inclusive English language teaching. Students will analyse classroom scenarios and teaching materials and reflect on how learner diversity can be addressed in theory-informed teaching practice.

Detailed information on course structure, literature, and assessment will be provided in the first session.
