This lecture focuses on the practical application of quantum emitters in emerging quantum technologies. It addresses state-of-the-art approaches for the integration of semiconductor quantum dots and other emitter platforms into photonic devices and their use in scalable architectures for applications of quantum technology. Key topics include device concepts and fabrication of quantum light sources for single- and entangled photon generation, on-chip photonic integration strategies, as well as challenges towards the realization of full-fledged quantum communication and computing platforms. Students will gain an in-depth understanding of the transition of solid-state emitters from foundational laboratory experiments to real-world applications of quantum technologies.
