This course refreshes key linguistic concepts and terminology introduced in earlier linguistics courses and deepens students’ understanding through the introduction of various methodological approaches to linguistic analysis. The course focuses on three main areas: acoustic analysis using the software program Praat, language attitudes and the methods used to elicit and analyze them, and corpus linguistics. The course is completed by the submission of a portfolio containing completed task sheets for the respective topics.
