<p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">This course offers a comprehensive introduction to the multifaceted field of <em>peace education as well as human and children’s rights education in the English as a foreign or second language classroom</em>, with a particular focus on the German educational context. We'll take it one step at a time, depending on how things are going and how we're feeling. As we'll be working on task design during the course, it would be really helpful to bring your laptops or tablet computers. </span></p><p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"> </span><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">As part of your studies and the <em>Prüfungsleistung</em>, you will work in small groups and present your tasks and materials as part of the <em>ELTx conference</em>, an international student conference organised by the University College of Teacher Education in Vienna, Austria via Zoom on </span></p><p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><strong><strong>- Thursday, 29th January 2025, 5-9pm. </strong></strong></span></p><p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">These materials and tasks as well as the design process will be the basis for your final examination (<em>Hausarbeit</em>) at the end of the course. This is due six weeks after the end of term (i.e., <strong>13th March 2026, </strong>one PDF-file via e-mail, details to follow). </span></p><p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">It is crucial to ensure the completion of the preliminary readings provided prior to the inaugural session, and a full preparation for each subsequent session.
