In this course, we will give an introduction to the modern language of algebraic geometry. The main topics are: schemes, coherent cohomology, and algebraic curves.
This is a continuation of the lecture ”Commutative Algebra” from the winter semester 2024/25. After a short introduction to category theory, we will develop the theory of schemes, including properties of schemes and scheme morphisms, quasi-coherent and locally free sheaves. This will lead to the construction of the Grassmann variety, which parameterizes d-dimensional sub-vector spaces of an n-dimensional vector space.
