This course deals with the teaching of English in heterogeneous primary school classrooms. That said, it is all about differentiation and individualisation – from legal background to theory to practice. We’ll explore aspects in which primary school learners differ and develop different ideas of how to deal with the learners’ differences and support all learners at their current levels. This will result in a school project, where we’ll put the knowledge we gained theoretically into practice. This course finishes with a reflection of what students’ have learned, in theory and in practise, and provides and outlook on how diverse primary school English classrooms can successfully be taught.
