In this course we will deal with very practical aspects of English language teaching, based on theoretical frameworks and models. We will analyse textbooks, look at tasks and design our own materials. To gain first-hand experience in implementing principles of task-based language learning, we will design a complex competence task. This course specifically focuses on oracy, that is, speaking, listening, and related competences involved in spoken discourse. Weekly readings will be uploaded to Learnweb and a detailed syllabus as well as assessment details will be provided in the first session.
