The seminar will analyse the Reykjavik principles of Democracy on rule of law, democracy and human rights developed in 2023.

 

The main focus is on democratic citizen engagement and democratic renewal. It will evaluate online and offline participation and instruments such as minipublics, participatory budgeting etc.

 

This hybrid seminar (online offline blended learwning) is related to the „World Forum for Democracy” on „Democracy ad Diversity” Wed. 6.11 2024 till Friday 8.11.2024 organized by the Council of Europe in Strasburg ( https://www.coe.int/en/web/world-forum-democracy). In this seminar an excursion to the Council of Europe in Strasburg and participation at the World forum for democracy will be realized. Travelling and accommodation in Strasburg has to be organized and paid for by each student.

 

Registration until 7.10.!!! in learnweb is obligatory. From here you also get access to the online tools Gathertown and PlaceM etc. From the semester start onwards the immediate use of Gathertown and PlaceM Quiz as well as the reading list in learnweb is obligatory

 

All organizational questions will be discussed in the first session at 17.10. another meeting will be at 31.10. 16.00. Both meetings are in preparation for the excursion to the World forum of democracy on 6.11 -8.11.. Only highly important question will be handled online by using email and only on working days.
