The course introduces the dynamics of Latin American International Politics from historical, conceptual and practical approaches. Latin America has a long tradition of engagement in international agendas, has been an active participant in international organisations and has a broad account of interregional and bilateral relations. Its position in the global scenario, the high availability of natural resources, and economic and political structures and changes defined different ways of engaging with international partners in different moments of its history. The main idea of the course is to provide a first approach to the issues that marked Latin American International Politics that still shape the place the region has and seeks to project to the world.
