This course introduces you to various forms of assessment in the context of EFL teaching and learning. This course tackles the complexities of developing quality class tests. You will also learn how to foster the students’ learning through formative assessment and qualitative feedback. Throughout the course you will deepen your knowledge about quality criteria (e.g. objectivity, reliability, validity, test fairness, etc.) and reflect on how to implement these in the classroom. You will broaden your knowledge of how to design tests that correlate with the theoretic constructs of the competences that are being assessed. 

As this is a students for students course, a dual focus is put on you as students. On the one hand you will be responsible for the design and content of one session and on the other hand you will offer constructive feedback to other groups.
