MSc/BSc study project (5 ECTS): "Visualising local consequences of climate change"
This study project will focus on developing novel visualisations to convey local effects of climate change to laypeople. Instead of diagrams and maps (such as those published by the IPCC), we will look at augmented/annotated photos/videos, interactive narratives and augmented/virtual reality to depict local impacts in an easy-to-understand way. The project will start with a research phase investigating suitable climate models and potential local impacts. Then, we will design potential visualisations and the corresponding user interfaces (e.g. using mockups, paper prototypes). Finally, we will select which visualisation to realise, create a prototypical implementation and evaluate it with members of the target audience.
