Should English teachers speak perfect RP or American English? Which varieties of English should be addressed in the English language classroom – and how?

This seminar deals with the role of English varieties and associated research paradigms in the English language classroom. As such, this course revolves around quesions concerned with the status quo of World or Global Englishes and associated implications for praxis; that is, among others, the role of the teacher('s English), cultural learning, and task-based language learning.
