This course will focus on the theory and practice of developing oral competences in the EFL Classroom. Students will be introduced to current theories related to language learning and speaking as well as to research on classroom discourse. Against this backdrop, a wide range of practical issues connected with teaching speech in the foreign language classroom will be discussed such as the characteristics of good speaking tasks, the role and treatment of errors and the contribution of 'negotiating meaning' to pupils'
acquisition of the foreign language. Texts and other materials will be made available through Learnweb.
