Der Kurs vermittelt Grundkenntnisse der menschlichen Osteologie, der anthropologischen Basisanalyse (u. A. Geschlechtsbestimmung, Sterbealtersschätzung) sowie der Paläopathologie. In Kleingruppen erarbeiten die TN des Kurses eine Art Steckbrief an jeweils einem mittelalterlichen Menschenskeletten.

The participants acquire a basic knowledge of human osteology, the methods used in anthropological analysis of human skeletal remains (e.g. assessment of sex and age at death), and the principles of paleopathological diagnosis. This knowledge is applied to the study of medieval human skeletons that is done in small teams.
