The IEB (Institute for Evolution and Biodiversity) bachelor seminar will be split into two parts: In the first half, we will have introductions and discussions regarding scientific practices such as writing, presenting and statistics which are essential for successfully conducting a bachelor thesis at the IEB, as well as any potential future academic endeavors. Then in the second half, these aspects will be put into practice by first instructing the BAchelor students to compose short outlines/abstracts of their planned IEB research projects (Max. 2 pages), which will then be cross-checked in a writing workshop with assistance by two Master student tutors. Furthermore, each bachelor student will present a particular research paper in the sessions of the second half of the literature seminar, with special emphasis on the aspects of scientific practice from the first half. Each literature seminar session will take place on Wednesdays, at 15:00.
