Inhalt der Vorlesung (6 SWS):

Methodik der Physik: Was ist Physik? Rolle von Theorie und Experiment, Größen und Größensysteme, Messen und Messunsicherheiten, Vektoren und Felder, komplexe Zahlen, Entwicklungen, Differentialgleichungen.

Dynamik der Teilchen und Teilchensysteme: Newton’sche Axiome, Kraft, Impuls- und Drehimpuls, Arbeit und Energie, Feldbegriff, Erhaltungssätze, Bewegung in Zentralkraftfeldern, beschleunigte und rotierende Bezugssysteme, Dynamik starrer Körper.

Schwingungen und Wellen: harmonische Schwingungen, gedämpfte Schwingungen, getriebene Schwingungen, gekoppelte Schwingungen, chaotische Schwingungen, Wellenausbreitung, Interferenz, stehende Wellen, Seilwellen, akustische Wellen, Doppler-Effekt.

Einführung in die relativistische Mechanik: Gleichzeitigkeit, Zeitdilatation und Lorentz-Kontraktion, Lorentz-Transformation, relativistische Mechanik.

 

Übungen (4 SWS):

Selbständige Bearbeitung der wöchentlichen gestellten Übungsaufgaben zum Stoff der Vorlesung.

Contents of the lecture (6 h per week):

Methods of physics: What is physics? The role of theory and experiment, units and systems of units, measurements and uncertainties, vectors and fields, complex numbers, expansions, differential equations.

Dynamics of particles and particle systems: Newton’s Laws, force, momentum and angular momentum, work and energy, fields, conservation laws, motion in central force fields, accelerated and rotating frames, dynamics of rigid bodies.

Oscillations and waves: harmonic oscillations, damped oscillations, driven oscillations, coupled oscillations, chaotic oscillations, wave propagation, intgerference, standing waves, rope waves, acoustic waves, Doppler effect.

Introduction to relativistic mechanics: simultaneity, time dilatation and Lorentz contraction, Lorentz transformation, relativistic mechanics.

 

Exercises (4 h per week):

Individual solution of homework exercises related to the subjects of the lecture.
