This class will introduce the students to the methods of linguistic fieldwork: how to analyse a structure of a language you do not know, relying on the knowledge of a non-linguist native speaker. Working with a native speaker of the selected language, we will try to understand its basic phonological structure and morphosyntactic rules. The class will take place online, taking advantage of the possibility of virtual meetings with a native speaker from a distant linguistic community.
