No learner is like the other! Each learner has different skills and competences, different strenghts and weaknesses and, overall, different motivations and interests. This diversity of learners has inspired the concept of learner autonomy, concerned with the question how learners can increasingly take charge of their own learning processes and outcomes. This seminar takes a look at the concept of learner autonomy from different didactic perspectives (from approaches to individualized learning to assessment and digitalisation) and reflects on potential ways of implementing different forms of autonomous learning in the EFL classroom.
