Drei wichtige Entwicklungen prägen heute die theologische Landschaft des weltweiten Christentums: (1) die demographische Verschiebung des Christentums in die südliche Hemnisphäre, die mit einem größeren interkulturellen und globalen Bewusstsein im theologischen Denken einhergeht; (2) die Herausforderung der Globalisierung in ihren unterschiedlichen sozio-kulturellen Formen auf das sich herausbildende weltweite Christentum; und (3) die intensivierte Begegnung des Christentums mit anderen Weltreligionen, welche einst formative historische interreligiöse Erfahrungen im Horizont des gegenwärtigen religiösen Pluralismus in unterschiedlichen Kontexten neu gestalten. Diese Herausforderungen haben zu einer Hinterfragung der Voraussetzungen christlicher Theologie mit Auswirkungen auf klassische Gebiete der Theologie geführt (Christologie, Anthropologie, Theologie der Religionen). Diese Vorlesung führt Studierende in die genannten Herausforderungen im weltweiten Christentum ein und eruiert die theologischen Möglichkeiten, welche sich insbesondere durch die neuen Diskurse von Interkulturelle Theologie, Komparative Theologie und Interreligiöser Dialog in diesem Horizont ergeben.
Vom 21.10. bis 20.12.2019 wird die Lehrveranstaltung als Online-Kurs und im Januar 2020 regulär im Vorlesungsraum durchgeführt. Voranmeldung bis 7.Oktober und Anwesenheit am 14.Oktober ist unbedingt erforderlich.
At least three important developments shape the theological landscape in world Christianity today: (1) the demographic shift of the Christian world to the Southern hemisphere accompanied by a growing cross-cultural and global awareness in theological thinking; (2) the challenges posed for an emergent world Christianity by globalization with its various cultural-societal modes, and (3) Christianity’s intensified encounter of world religions, refiguring formative historical interreligious experiences vis-à-vis contemporary religious pluralism in various contexts. These challenges have led to a profound re-thinking of the presuppositions of Christian theology with vital effects on certain classical theological fields (e.g. Christology, anthropology, theology of religions). This lecture course aims to introduce students to these challenges posed for an emergent world Christianity and offers the opportunity to explore the theological possibilities opened up by the new discourses of intercultural theology, comparative theology and interreligious dialogue in this new horizon.
During 21 Oct to 20 Dec 2019 the course will be conducted as online course and in January in regular classroom fashion. Preregistration for the course is required till 7 October and attendance on 14 Oct obligatory.
